WOW! Internet Speed Test
Measure the internet connection speed from your device to the WOW! network
Let's check your speed on this device.
Note: Results may vary and be lower than your plan speeds due to device capabilities and WiFi connections.
Tips for Testing
Connect directly to your modem with an ethernet cable, to remove any latency from a WiFi connection.
Close any programs or apps and shut off other devices, to capture the highest bandwidth.
Confirm your device capabilities, to ensure it can receive the speeds you have subscribed to. Learn about device limitations
Note: Use the eero or Tether apps to test your speed if you have eero or TP-Link devices. Testing using one of these apps removes device limitations as the test runs from the WOW! router to the WOW! network. How to test with eero or Tether apps.
Understanding Your Results
Snapshot in Time
Speed test results are a snapshot of your connection at a specific time. Several factors can influence your internet speed and can change day-to-day, minute-by-minute. We recommended conducting multiple tests at different times.
High Usage at Home
Heavy use of your internet can slow down your connection – like several users/devices online, online gaming, streaming TV, video calls, and file transferring. If you find your speed isn’t enough for your needs, consider upgrading to our faster internet plans.
Device Capabilities
Make sure your device can receive the speeds you have subscribed to. Things like the network card, mobile device model, WiFi standards and hardware can limit the maximum speed.
WiFi is Different
To get the most accurate speed tests, run your tests on your wired connection. If you’re testing via a WiFi-connected device, it’s best to test with the app associated with the device.

Understanding Your Speed
- Ping
Look for lower values A ping of 20ms or lower is excellent for real-time applications, while 20-50ms is average. Anything above 50ms may cause noticeable delays, depending on how you use the internet higher ping may not have much of an impact. Higher values cause delays in page loads or videos. To Improve your results try connecting directly to your modem and reducing or removing programs or other devices using the internet. View More Troubleshooting
- Jitter
Look for a value of 30ms or lower. Higher values cause choppy videos or audio. Improve results by connecting directly to your modem, moving closer to your WiFi router or reducing/removing congestion from programs or other devices using the internet. View More Troubleshooting
- Download & Upload Speed
Your speed will vary by the speed you subscribed to, how many devices in your home are using the Internet, whether you’re connecting over WiFi, and the maximum speed the device you're testing with is capable of receiving. The heavier the load on your Internet, the slower your speed and the longer it will take to download or send files, stream videos update files online and connect online. Improve results by upgrading your speed to meet your household’s needs, connecting directly to your modem, getting closer to your WiFi router, rebooting your modem or reducing/removing congestion from programs or other devices using the internet View More Troubleshooting
