What is I can't transfer a call on my Poly Edge E320 or E400?

What You Are Experiencing
You are on an active call and need to transfer it to another extension or number but the transfer is not completing, the call drops, or you are unsure of the correct steps.

How Blind (Unattended) Transfer Works
A blind transfer sends the call directly to another number without announcing it first.

Steps to Blind Transfer

  1. While on the active call, press the Transfer soft key or the Forward/Transfer key (key 10, the physical button on the left side of the phone).
  2. The Blind Transfer screen appears. Enter the extension or full 10-digit phone number.
  3. Press the Dial soft key or wait 5 seconds for the transfer to complete automatically.
  4. Your phone returns to the home screen. The call has transferred.

WARNING: Do not hang up before pressing Dial or the transfer will cancel and the call will drop.
If you need to cancel a transfer in progress, press the Back key to return to the active call.

Transfer Is Not Completing

  1. Confirm you pressed Transfer first before entering the destination number. Dialing directly without Transfer will start a new outbound call instead.
  2. If the call dropped, the destination number may be unreachable. Verify the number and try again.
  3. If the Transfer softkey does not appear, the call may be on hold. Press Resume first to make the call active, then attempt the transfer.

TIP: The E400 supports up to 32 lines on the main display and 12 on the secondary display. If you have many active or held calls, use the Line Keys to confirm which call is active before initiating a transfer.

Contact us if:
Transfer soft key does not appear during any calls.
Calls consistently drop when attempting to transfer.
You need an attended (warm) transfer where you announce the caller first.
