What if I can't place a call or dialing isn't working on my Poly Edge E320?
What You Are Experiencing
You pick up the handset or press the speakerphone button but get no dial tone, the call does not connect, or the number you dial produces an error.
How to Fix It
No Dial Tone
- Confirm the phone's network cable is firmly plugged into the Network Port (port 4 on the back of the phone).
- Confirm the other end of the cable is plugged into an active network switch or wall jack.
- Check the LED bar at the top of the phone. If it is off or dark, the phone may not be powered on.
- If the phone is powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet), confirm the switch port the phone is connected to has PoE active. If using a separate power adapter, confirm it is connected to the Power Port (port 3).
Call Does Not Connect / Fast Busy Signal
- Confirm you are dialing a complete 10-digit number for external calls.
- For internal extensions, confirm you are dialing the correct extension number as shown in CommPortal under Contacts > Extensions.
- If you receive a recording stating the number is not in service, verify the number with the intended recipient.
Three Ways to Place a Call on the E320
- Handset: Pick up the handset and dial.
- Speakerphone: Press the Speakerphone key (key 14) and dial.
- Headset: Press the Headset key (key 13) and dial. Confirm headset is plugged into Headset Port (port 6).
You can also scroll recent calls from the home screen, tap a number, and press the Dial soft key to redial.
