What do I do if 3-way conference calling isn't working on my Poly Edge E320 or E400?
What You Are Experiencing
You are trying to add a third party to a call but the Conference softkey is not available, the call drops when merging, or one party cannot hear the others.
How 3-Way Conferencing Works on the E320 & E400
- While on an active call, tap the Conference soft key. This places your current caller on hold.
- Dial the extension or phone number of the party you want to add, then tap Dial.
- When the new party answers, tap the Conference soft key again to merge all three parties.
Conference Soft Key Is Not Appearing
- Confirm the call is active and not on hold. The Conference softkey only appears on an active call.
- If all softkey slots are in use, press the Pagination Key (key 4) to cycle to the next softkey page where Conference may be.
Call Drops When Merging
- Confirm the first caller is still on hold and has not hung up before you dial the third party.
- Confirm the second party has answered before tapping Conference. Pressing Conference before they answer will not merge correctly.
Splitting a Conference Call
- Tap the Split soft key while the conference is active.
- Both parties go to hold. Tap the number on screen for the party you want to speak with.
- Press Resume to connect. The other caller stays on hold until you return to them or they hang up.

Conference softkey never appears even on an active call after checking pagination.
Merging causes all parties to lose audio.
You need more than 3 parties on a call.
