Can I use my own modem?
Yes, you can! Great choice on using your own modem! Once the WOW! technician has completed the outside work to connect your home to WOW!, You will then need to Activate Your New Modem Follow these simple steps: First you’ll need the last 4 digits of your WOW! account number, and a device connected to your modem.
- Navigate to wowway.com/selfinstall. A. Click the Activate Service button. B. Fill in the online form with the last four digits of your account number, your last name, and your service zip code. Accept the terms and conditions and click Submit.
- After submitting the form, a message will display indicating your account is being verified.
- Once your account is verified, a message will display indicating that your services are being activated.
- Next, a message confirming a successful connection will appear and your modem will then reboot automatically. Please wait until all the lights on the modem are solid and no longer flashing before attempting to access the Internet If you are experiencing issues please contact our Customer Service team here. We will need your modem’s MAC address to get it activated on our network so that you can begin surfing the internet in no time! For WOW! ULTRA customers, the modem is included in the ULTRA Gateway and a customer-owned modem cannot be used with this service. 1.2 Gig speeds may require an additional modem and/or direct ethernet connection to ensure maximum internet speed.
