What do I need to know about my WOW! Phone installation appointment?

Important: You or an authorized adult (18 or older) must be present during the installation process.

You, or someone over the age of 18 authorized to sign for the service, must be home for the installation process. A technician will arrive any time within your scheduled installation window. Please plan on the installation lasting a minimum of two hours from the time the technician arrives.

The technician will provide you with an advanced modem. Be sure to keep the advanced modem plugged into an electrical outlet that cannot be turned on and off using a light switch in order to avoid service interruptions. For WOW! Phone customers with Ultra TV, the advanced modem is part of the gateway.

If you have a home security system, you will need to notify your security company of the date and time scheduled for installation of your WOW! Phone service so that your alarm company can arrange to test your alarm system while our technician is at your home. Our phone service should work with most home alarm systems using tone dialing and standard data communications protocols.

In order to avoid any interruption in your phone service, please do not contact your current phone provider to disconnect your service before your WOW! Phone installation is complete.

WOW! Phone service (including access to 911) is not available in the event of a power outage. If you would like a back up battery, please contact us to have a battery ordered.
