WOW! Internet, Cable, & Phone

Affordable Connectivity Program

WOW! was an official broadband provider in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), a federal government subsidy that reduced qualifying customer Internet costs.

However, WOW! has stopped accepting new applications and enrollments for the Affordable Connectivity Program after close of business February 7, 2024 9:00 PM ET in response to an announcement from the FCC. The FCC has projected that the allotted funding will run out in April 2024 (this date is an estimate and may change) if Congress does not provide additional funding. As a result, the FCC has begun taking steps to wind down the ACP.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why is WOW! no longer accepting ACP enrollments?

In 2021, Congress established the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, appropriating $14.2 billion. The FCC has projected that the allotted funding will run out in April 2024 if Congress does not provide additional funding (this date is an estimate and may change). As a result, the FCC has begun taking steps to wind down the ACP.

  • Am I affected by this change if I am already receiving ACP benefits?

Households who have applied, been approved, and are receiving the monthly internet discount before close of business February 7, 2024 at 9:00 PM ET will continue to receive their ACP benefit until ACP funds run out, as long as the household remains enrolled in the program. After the ACP funds run out (projected in April 2024), households participating in the ACP will no longer receive the ACP discounts. Please note that this date is an estimate and may change.

  • How will I know when funding runs out and my ACP benefits stop?

Starting late January 2024 and during the ACP wind-down period, ACP households enrolled in WOW! services will receive notices from WOW!. The notices will tell households:

    • that the ACP is ending,
    • the impact on their bill,
    • the date of the last bill they will receive that includes the ACP benefit
    • that they may change their service or opt-out of continuing service after the end of the ACP
  • How can I stay informed about the changes to the Affordable Connectivity Program?
    • Consistently check your emails for more information and for further updates regarding the ACP benefit.

  • What are my choices when my ACP benefits stop?

After you stop receiving ACP benefits you will have the option to: • make no change to your WOW! service • change your WOW! service • discontinue your WOW! Service

  • What happens if I applied for ACP but I’m not receiving benefits yet?

Consumers must be approved and enrolled in the ACP with WOW! by close of business at 9:00 PM ET on February 7 to receive the ACP benefit.

If you qualified for the ACP but you did not sign up with WOW! before close of business on February 7, 2024 at 9:00 PM ET you can no longer enroll in the ACP.

  • Do I receive the funds directly each month?

No, the Affordable Connectivity Program provides a monthly discount on broadband service of up to $30 per eligible household. WOW! will receive the funds directly from the Affordable Connectivity Program and apply the applicable credit to services for eligible participants.
