Custom Built ComputersOne of our specialties is building custom designed
computers tailored to our client's individual needs. We can build to a
price point, or build your dream machine. These can include: high speed
gaming systems, windowed cases, with lights, work-station
systems for graphics artists, business executives, and ProTools PCI
work-stations
for musicians, with high quality sound boards and MIDI support. We also build small business network servers utilizing the latest SATA RAID hard drive technology. We will work with you to design the exact system you need to fit your budget, or specialized needs. If you tell us what you want to do, we will take care of the hardware details and design aspects. At User Friendly Computers we build high quality systems that feature cool, quiet operating components that result in durable long lasting computers. We prefer to use high quality heavy duty power supplies in all of our systems. These tend to have quieter fans and better voltage regulation, which produces a more stable, longer lasting computer. If you have an idea for your dream machine, feel free to call or e-mail us and share your thoughts. We can turn you dream machine into a real machine. Please call the owner: Bill Woelk at 248-585-9132.Here are some photos of some recent systems we have built. . .
![]() Nice silver and black cases. Note the convenient front mounted USB outlets and memory card reader slots. Card readers and floppy drives are optional. ![]() Interior view of a large ATX case and a mATX case side by side showing the neatly tied cables. The ATX case on the left has more room for expansion. The mATX case on the right takes up less space. ![]() Similar to above system, but with a black power supply. Note acoustic foam was added to suppress noise. Above: Side view of the MicroATX system. ![]() This case uses slow turning (1,500 RPM Fans) to minimize fan noise. The hard drives are mounted using rubber grommets to reduce vibration. Above right: This PC uses an optional extra-quiet Artic Cooling fan with fluid bearings. AC has the longest warranty in the fan business at 6-years! The oil filled bearings make this possible. We can add these fans to existing computers to help quiet them. ![]() A noisy South Bridge fan was removed and a blue Zalman ZM-NB47J heatsink installed in place of it. Rear view of the mATX system. Note the dual video connectors. Heat sinks produce no noise and never wear out! ![]() This side cover was lined with acoustic foam to help suppress noise. Cut-outs allow fresh air in to cool the video card and promote better air flow to the power supply. When completed this system was quiet enough to be installed as a home server in a bedroom. ![]() This British designed Hiper is a modular power supply we use in our high end designs. ![]() Note the quality military style threaded cable connectors. These won't pop off accidently! ![]() This power user's PC has a fanless motherboard design and a 150 channel dual TV tuner. ![]() We moved this client's optical/floppy drives over from another PC he owned that died. We did not build the PC that gave up the ghost, but by using an off-white case everything matched up nicely. ![]() Note the round copper and silver braided drive cables. We prefer to use rounded/shielded cables to connect ATA optical drives. This upgrade included high speed Crucial Ballistix memory clocked at: 2,2,2,8. ![]() The copper plumbing in this PC is for a fanless vapor-chilled video card and mainboard. The red cable connects a fast 3.2 Gb/Second Western Digital SATA-II RE hard drive to the mainboard. The R.E. or Registered Enterprise drives carry a 5-year warranty versus 1-3 years on most standard desktop drives. Basic Gaming System: ![]() This is an overall view of gaming PC we recently built for a client. Note the cool see through satellite speakers. The display is a Samsung Syncmaster 710N 17" LCD, with an 8 mS response time for fast action gaming response. All the better for defeating alien attackers! ![]() Here is a side view looking through the blue tinted side view portal. Note the glowing black light effects inside. These are more dramatic with the room lights turned down. The green cable sleeving is UV reactive. ![]() Here is a side view with the side cover removed and black light effects switched on. ![]() This system will support SLi dual video with the addition of a second PCI-E X16 Nvidia graphics card. The green power cabling and tie wraps use a special ultraviolet reactive plastic that glows under black light. There are two 8" long cold cathode black lights hidden at the top and the bottom of the case. We used all rounded drive cables to improve the appearance and to allow for better air-flow through the system. Even the Aspire power supply has a see-through fire resistant cover and internal blue LED fans to match the blue status LED's on the system board and the blue 80 mm case fans. ![]() A down firing subwoofer in a transparent tuned bass reflex enclosure gives a nice bass kick to the gaming system above. It pumps out a surprising amount of bass for its size. It stands about 12" high. These are the same speakers found on many high end Mac systems.
