| This all started when my ISP decided to offer high
speed digital service in the area in the late 90's. With speeds up
to 986kb a second, I was thrilled. In addition with my service, I
get free space on their server for a personal home page. I had some
experience with building websites. I began to do research and found
the best program was
WYSIWYG, (what you see is what you get). Basically you just
drop and type stuff all over the page. Boy, was that a long time ago. I found its
better to use a program that allows both WYSIWYG and
HTML editing, (MS FrontPage is the BEST). Then I discovered
Flash, sort of little movies using sound and making things move. Of
course these files can get very large when you include sound. For a 56k
connection its a little slow depending on how large of a sound file you use
and the length of the clip. I mostly use
HTML and other little add-in enhancements like
DHTML,
JavaScript, etc, which enhances your website. I still use Flash but try
to stay clear of it. You can see some examples on the
Flash Movie Page. The name of
my old web site was "Living In
Orlando", but now it is "GT Place" because of my move to Michigan.
My web site has changed too many times to count. I'm pretty happy with it
now because it has a lot to view yet easy to make changes. Look for new
pictures often because Santa brought me a GREAT digital camera.
