El Viaje - Barcelona / Barceloneta Pedicab - 29 September |

During our last day in Barcelona, we strolled along the harbor area again, and were trying to figure out how to get to the "Teleferic" cable car. We could see the east cable car tower from where we were but it appeared to be quite a distance out on the peninsular Barceloneta area. Asked some cops if there was a bus (which we thought we'd seen going out there) and they said there wasn't one. We decided to walk there, and crossed the park area. There was another all wooden submarine replica there, and we stopped to check that out. Continuing our walk, we chanced upon these guys with purple pedicabs. This journey was fast becoming a buffet of varying modes of transportation and we decided to let this guy take us the remaining half mile or so to the Teleferic tower. Three Euros. OK. He turned out to be a German student on sabbatical, telling us all about how hard it was to find employment in his field and why he was pedaling for a living in Barcelona. It turned out to be an interesting ride on a beautiful sunny day and when he delivered us to the base of the tower, I tipped him well (pedalling the two of us, after a good lunch, a half mile must have taken some effort) and got this photo of him as he pedalled away.
