RATES:  $76 - $166

This is a traditional-style tract, located on a beautiful, rolling, salt-marsh peninsula, with nine very scenic holes overlooking the expansive salt marshes and Intracoastal Waterway. The inland holes wander through a forest, and water hazards come into play on six holes. Golf writers call it “The Pebble Beach of the East” and Sports Illustrated says it’s “Myrtle Beach's top course” (2003). Set high on bluffs overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean and salt marshes of Cherry Grove Inlet, Tidewater delivers spectacular views and unforgettable challenges. From its opening in 1990 when Golf Magazine ranked it among the nation’s “Top 10” new courses and Golf Digest recognized it as “best new course,” Tidewater has gathered award after award while it has matured. Recent honors include: “Top 100 Places You Can Play” – Golf Magazine, 2002, “Top 75 Resorts in America”– Golf Digest, 2002 and 4 1/2 stars in “Places To Play”–2002-2003. Don't miss your chance to play one of golf's best. Tidewater is managed by Burroughs & Chapin Golf, the leader in delivering quality golf experiences.

PERSONAL COMMENTS:  What can I say.  I have played this course multiple times and it would be one of my personal favorites.  The scenery is beautiful and it will test many aspects of your golf game.  The only downfall to this course like many low country courses are there are not a lot of elevation changes.  In 2003 they changed their greens from bent to hybrid bermuda.  The greens are excellent but there is nothing like putting on bent greens.  I strongly recommend you play this course.  You will enjoy the long rides from green to the next tee, the marsh, and a well kept golf course. My favorite shot is the par 3 half island green over the marsh.
