WOW! Obtains Cable Franchise in City of Gibraltar

Madison Heights, MI - February 1, 2011 - WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone announced today that it has been granted a cable television franchise by the City of Gibraltar. The agreement is the first step necessary to bring competition to Gibraltar, providing residents with a choice of Internet, Cable and Phone providers. In 2010, WOW! expanded its service into the neighboring communities of Beverly Hills and Birmingham. Gibraltar is the most recent community for WOW! to expand into, following an announcement last month that the company would be entering Grosse Point Woods. Upon completion of construction, WOW! will have invested over two million dollars in Gibraltar.

The company is based locally in Madison Heights and has successfully delivered Cable, Internet and Phone services throughout Southeast Michigan since 1996. WOW! has earned a reputation for customer service excellence, having received top honors over the years from a number of highly regarded, independent sources such as Consumer Reports and J.D. Power and Associates. WOW! will install a brand new hybrid fiber optic network to serve Gibraltar, while utilizing the existing poles located in the dedicated public easements. In areas with underground utilities in the public easement, cable lines are installed to mirror the existing routes. According to Vice President of Technical Operations Floyd Armstead, "Last year WOW! engineers surveyed every inch of the existing easements in the city and we are ready to begin construction of our advanced network this spring".

The network will be constructed and activated on a street-by-street basis. Construction is expected to take sixty days to complete from start to finish and the company has a comprehensive customer notification process.
